MEET THE TEAM
WELCOME TO OUR FAMILY BLOG
Every parenting story is full of twists, turns and bumps along the road. Our parenting journey began in 2014, with the arrival of our eldest boy; screaming, kicking and weeing his way into our world. Our second boy arrived in a much calmer fashion in 2017; he was quiet yet unsettlingly hairy.
We are raising our boys in Northwest England. Dad works full-time and Mum is a stay-at-home parent and writes the OneStoryMum Blog.
We care deeply about sensible parenting and strong communication. So we take a lot of time each day to make sure every voice is heard. That’s the best way to make sure everyone’s perspective is understood. And that’s where the idea for this parenting blog came from.
We want to grow strong bonds within our family unit that will last the tests and the trials. We want our children to grow in confidence and find their voices to express their views and feelings. And we want each of us to be able to understand each other’s point of view so we can resolve our (sometimes daily) conflicts together.
And we love a funny story!

Our stories are about hearing each voice. So they cover the same event or moment from two different perspectives: the grown up’s and the kids’!
We hope they’ll give a little insight into how each of our unique motivations and expectations can colour our realities differently.
