New Year Clean Up or New Year Rearrange?
Luc (8 years old)
Christmas is over. And Mummy has put everything away. Even the Christmas tree. And the twinkly lights in my bedroom. All back up into the attic.
She’s not put all my new stuff up there. Although she does keep trying to tidy things away, and find new homes for it all.
Where has she gone now? Why are is the attic ladder down? What is she up to now?
“Mummy, what are you doing with all my toys?” I find her with her stash of stolen goods. Caught red-handed.
“I’m just clearing a few things out.” She says, trying to stop me from touching anything.

“Wait. I have been looking for this for ages.” I dive into the pile of stuff. “You can’t get rid of all this Mummy.”
“Maybe a few things? Some of this you haven’t played with for ages.” She picks up a box and climbs the ladder to the attic.
“That’s because its been in the attic.” I mutter, starting to rummage through the pile.
Well two can play at this game. I quickly start picking things out of the pile and take it back to my room.
“Luc, are you taking stuff out of my pile?” Mum calls down from the attic.
Busted.
