Two kids flying down a forest zip line at Center Parcs

Center Parcs: Great Holiday Ideas for all Ages

Center Parcs is full of fun activities for the whole family but they do come at a cost. But the free swimming pool is still the best part for our two boys. With space to swim, rides to enjoy and waves to jump over, its not something to miss. Here is our story…

Center Parcs: It's all about the swimming pool

Mum (11 years parenting)

I’ve never liked rides. Rollercoasters, water slides, anything that involves a big drop. And don’t get me started on any ride that goes round and round and round. Even the thought of them makes me feel sick.

But we are currently in the swimming pool of Center Parcs Whinfell UK and the boys (and I include my husband in that description) are currently trying to persuade me that it is safe for the youngest to go on the big wild canyon ride.

I’m not worried about him on the slide bit. I’m not worried that he will be on his own because Dad will be going with him and will watch him like a hawk. It’s the moment when they splash back ino the water and go under. And there is that moment that you are just never quite sure if they are going to pop back up.

“Please Mum, it’s fine I promise you.” Tomos implores. Obviously he knows this because of his vast experience of going down this slide a total of 1 time.

“You’ll watch him?” I ask my husband. He nods.

The boys know from this that they have won and they shriek as they run off to the slide.

And relax. I think I might read my book.
